For Leila’s Realm,- I used Autodesk Maya to model the initial environment which includes, flooring, an easel, a chair, an Amp, a Shelf, a Bookshelf, a Jar, paintbrushes, flower lei, Blankets, covers, and books. Used ZBrush to sculpt the green scrump doll and the octopus and performed UV layout on all assets within Maya. Used Substance Painter to create and paint the textures and Adjust Arnold shaders accordingly.
The environment was modeled using Maya and ZBrush, with XGen utilized for fur items. Substance Painter and Substance Designer were employed for texturing, with all elements rendered using Arnold shaders.
This thesis project consists of two parts, where Leila’s reality intersects with her dreams. It’s my interpretation of an “Oneiric” experience, which represents a dreamlike state. The project reflects the desires of a child who cherishes their youth while their older sister urges them to grow up. This thesis serves as a portrayal of that dynamic.
The first part focuses on the model of Leila’s Room, which I initially designed as a replica of Lilo and Stitch’s bedroom. Heather Freeze later adjusted certain aspects of the environment to align with the project’s vision. However, many elements that I modeled remain unchanged, including the easel, bookshelf, books, amp, Scrump doll, paint materials, flower lei, chair, blankets, flooring, and trim.
Leila’s Realm, essentially her room and sanctuary, is intended to evoke joy and nostalgia reminiscent of childhood. Her obsession with Stitch is evident throughout the room, serving as a constant reminder of her playful spirit and love for innocence.
