The Sister Anipe of the Oneiric
For Anipe, I used Marvelous Designer to craft the Dress. Autodesk Maya to Model the Bow. Additionally, I conducted UV layout in Autodesk Maya and utilized XGen interactive for hair, eyebrows grooming. I used Substance Painter for texture creation and painting and adjusted Arnold shaders accordingly.
Meet Anipe, the Sister of my Charcetr Leila Look Development thesis project. While the character rig is from AAU , I handled all aspects of her design—from clothing in which I crafted in Marvelous Designer. For the textures, I used Substance Painter and Maya Arnold shaders. I created the modeled the braids, and hair band, then used XGen to create the hair.
For the appearance of the character, I aimed for a stark contrast between the two sisters. Anipe, the elder sister, embodies a refined aesthetic, a deliberate departure from the youthful look of her sister, Leila. Inspired by Ghanaian culture, Anipe’s attire and facial adornments reflect a celebration of her African heritage. The choice of fabric and colors draws from Ghanaian influences, with purple symbolizing royalty and blue representing harmony and love. Anipe’s tribal face paint holds significance, symbolizing beauty, growth, and peace within her culture. Each angle and placement of the tribal makeup carries meaning. Ultimately, Anipe serves as a symbol of maturity and self-acceptance, epitomizing the journey of embracing one’s identity.
